After the excellent "On Letting Go", Circa Survive comes back with a "Blue Sky Noise" offering a very researched, dynamic, melodious and emotional music. Our happy band of Americans delivers us again an album of alternative rock with experimental content, screaming guitars, powerful rhythmic, and whose Anthony Green's voice, combined with the various arrangements, manages to arouse depth and emotion.

We can find catchy saturated guitars riffs with an always marked tempo ("Strange Terrain", "Get Out") with a bass and a drum always bringing a considerable relief to the whole ("Imaginary Enemy", or "Through The Desert Alone"). And it is with this power that come to graft here and there notes of guitars full of feeling ("Glass Arrows"), as well as soli on the interludes, certainly short but devilishly effective.

In addition to that, we have Anthony Green's voice, the real soul of Circa Survive, high and very particular, that we hate or we love. In this last case, we must admit that his tone insufflates a real emotion to the titles and this particularly on the ballads, very poignant moments of this "Blue Sky Noise" ("Frozen Creek", "Spirit Of The Stairwell").

All these elements combined create an album balanced between power and emotion, dynamic from the beginning to the end. Clearly, Circa Survive offers us a new masterpiece of Alternative Rock in the right line of "On Letting Go"! Let's hope it lasts...!

OTHER REVIEWS
GRAVE DIGGER: Knights Of The Cross (1998)
HEAVY METAL - Less direct than its two predecessors, "Knights Of The Cross" confirms nevertheless the good shape and the writing intelligence of Grave Digger.
KISS: Destroyer (1976)
MELODIC HARD ROCK - "Destroyer" is probably the most successful Kiss album, thanks to its really varied tracks, with very catchy riffs and choruses and its excellent production.
