Leaving everything No-Man has done so far behind, Flowermouth is a revelation not only to the band, which, it should be remembered, is the project of Tim Bowness and the leader of the Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson, but also to a connoisseur of their work.

Oscillating between electro, intimate pop and atmospheric rock, this opus is a box of happiness. On repetitive rhythmic constructions, the very numerous instruments intermingle, talk to each other and follow one another in the pure tradition of what No-Man has already done. So far, nothing new, except that the use of some classical instruments simply makes the difference. The solos of flute, saxophone or trumpet are an enchantment and the brief but common appearances of violins bring the thrill.

More energetic and incisive than the albums that followed, this "Flowermouth" is anything but predictable. The alternation of purer verses and choruses full of sounds in perfect osmosis are absolutely unstoppable. All the redundant side is completely absorbed by the melody, by the additions of instruments, by the thorough percussions and by the dreamlike and plenitude atmosphere that emerges in absolutely every track. More than a success, "Flowermouth" is the reference among references.
