Hailing from France, Redemption is a family affair that began in 2017 with father Jean-Serge Kuhn on bass accompanied by his children, Rod on drums and Mat on guitar and vocals. The band has made a name for itself with explosive performances including a performance at Hellfest 2018. Redemption is old school hard rock, not far from Motörhead, Danko Jones or The Ramones.
The band has released two EPs and the debut album "Three of A Kind" lands with the support of Rage Tour. Consisting of eleven tracks, this record is a bullet of a gun. What strikes you is the desire and the freshness that emanates from it. In spite of their young age (13 and 18), the musicians ensure like old veterans. By mixing hard rock and punk, Redemption delivers head-shaking tracks ('Are Your Ready', 'Rock Or Die', 'Dark Side', 'Play It Louder'). Carried by a drums worthy of Motörhead, the pieces show a rocky vocals, a direct side on well-crafted choruses and fast riffs and soli tinted with a tasty hard rock'n'roll spirit.
But the band also knows how to be more violent by getting closer to a more thrashy sound that evokes Metallica or Testament. The power of striking in instrumental parts of 'Follow Me' and 'The Rule' stick the listener to the seat. The thrash side is also found in 'Welcome To The Wild' and 'Do It My Way' through explosive riffs and an impressive drumming.
The cocktail proposed by Redemption is tasty and explosive. With "Three Of A Kind", the power trio launches into the fray with class and is already competing with the big boys of the hard rock scene. It will be necessary to follow closely this sympathetic formation which raises morale in this dark times. - Official website
