"On a background of modern neo metal with a huge sound, Tetrarch blows hot and cold with "Unstable", an album that bears its name well."

What kind of musicians call his band Tetrarch? Those who are fans of the English tanks of the same name? Surely, but also a band of young ameriricans from Atlanta who "emigrated" to California to launch their career in 2017 with "Freak", a first album noticed by the metal planet. Today with "Unstable", Tetrarch develops a heavy and fast metal made of neo influences and mixing heavy riffs, electro arrangements and vocals between clear voice and grunts/screamos.
The energy of the riffs and the rhythms is adorned most of the time with melodies taken back in chorus for an immediate efficiency and a guaranteed effect on stage. In this vein, 'Unstable', 'I'm Not Right' and 'You Never Listen' are the hits of an album destined to a young audience, fond of nu metal and decibel. On this side, "Unstable" is very well thought, leaving only rare moments of rest to a listener who could feel drowned under a deluge of sounds.
The energy is quickly communicative, the whole is very well produced with a huge sound necessary to appreciate this type of music. Few or no solo (the one of 'Sick Of You' is quite successful but much too short) and only 'Trust Me' which closes the album offers a haunting mid-tempo and a dark and intriguing ambient structure in which the band excels.
Tetrarch undeniably has a sound and a melodic know-how but still suffers from a lack of inspiration and variety which destines this "Unstable" to pure fans of nu metal or of the band. The EP format would have been very judicious here by removing a good third of the too redundant titles. It's a pity, because the potential is there and the main tracks really stand out. - Official website
