Ozric Tentacles is one of those groups that doesn't change. Admittedly the English, always led by Ed Wynne, are not totally impervious to timid evolutions but their albums all look a bit alike, assurance for the faithful not to be disappointed if not surprised.

Once the first track launched, this immutable flood of round and hopping notes never fails to invade the space like a geyser charged with positive energy. For the music of the British has always had a high healing value. Free of all darkness or negative feelings, it simply does good. A true regenerating potion, it has something of a generous nectar that is swallowed like a precious fluid that heals the little pains of the soul.

Five years after a pantagruelic "Technicians Of The Sacred", Ozric Tentacles finally comes out of his lair to offer us this "Space For The Earth" which already has the good taste to renew with a more stocky format after the 90 minutes spread out by his predecessor. No filling here, only pleasure, such is the program of this new offering of space rock at the confines of trance. A simple pleasure that is always combined with this quiet virtuosity, the prerogative of Ed Wynne and his band.

From the outset, we can enjoy 'Stripey Clouds', a pure Ozric Tentacle's track with his dynamic guitar, his huge bass, his keyboard notes like bubbles filled with a euphoric substance and his oriental scents. No surprise, we are on (too) familiar ground but it doesn't matter because, between a lunar 'Blooperdome', a fast and effects-filled 'Popscape' and especially the gigantic 'Humbolt Currant', a mouth-watering single with the allure of a launching pad, this opus respects the specifications of its progenitors.

After a over-vitaminized first half, the second part of the listening is softer, clearer and more peaceful. 'Climbing Plants' is classic, 'Space For The Earth' takes us along the Andes Cordillera while, piloted by a space guitar that sounds like no other, 'Harmonic Steps' unrolls its cosmic tentacles dear to the English.

Starry vault, 'Space For The Earth' as always will delight the regulars but the impression that its authors, without being on autopilot, have not this time forced their talent impregnates however a pleasant listening which will not leave lasting residues in the memory.

BLACK METAL - "Dawn Of The Damned" is a good album thanks to consistent melodies but it leaves an impression of half-measure compared to other productions of the genre
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN: Letter To You (2020)
ROCK - With 'Letter To You', The Boss strikes again, proving that he is still able to surprise us and that he still has things to say.
