Harun Demiraslan's inspiration is in full effervescence and with the generosity we know him for, he makes us enjoy it to the fullest. Thus, only a few months after the release of Step in Fluid's indispensable second album "Back In Business", the guy restarted the engine of his band Trepalium, which had been resting since the EP "Damballa's Voodoo Doll" released in 2015. The novelty in the band's ranks is of size since it concerns the replacement of Cedric "KéKé" Punda who left in 2017 by Renato Di Folco (Flayed).

This movement of personnel is not to displease us because the raging death vocals of KéKé was a bit tiring on the length. Renato's choice, with his manly gruffness and imposing attitude, is perfect to embody the powerful, festive, groovy and colourful music of Trepalium.

This arrival coincides with the new turn Trepalium's metal fusion takes in "From The Ground". Jazz, sparkling brass and swing give way to earthy blues with a devilish groove topped with retro keyboards (the Hammond on 'Twins Brawl') for the right atmosphere. Since the last Step In Fluid, Harun has been pampered by the creative fairy, everything he composes is marked with the seal of assured success. If you could drill into his skull, you'd see a bubbling magma from which he draws his devastating energy, his adamantine riffs ('From The Ground', 'Twins Brawl', 'Everything Is Supposed To Be Ok') and all the over-excited rhythmic twists and turns ('From The Ground', 'To The Sun').

How difficult it is to be simple. Van Gogh's word applies perfectly to this surprisingly short "From The Ground". But Harun and his precious acolytes need say no more, everything is already there. And in any case, it'll run on a loop, so the question doesn't even arise.

RAPTOR KING: Dinocosmos (2019)
HARDCORE - The cellar of a cosmic sludgecore, "Dinocosmos" closes in beauty the saga of Raptor V.
DIRTY SHIRLEY: Dirty Shirley (2020)
HARD ROCK - Dirty Shirley is (hard) rock, a bit old-fashioned, very well written, rocky, masterfully performed, emotional, in the footsteps of Dio or Whitesnake, in short, pure classic.
