It was barely a year ago that the German group DeVicious introduced its first offspring, a "Never Say Never" that had appealed to fans of the style with its melodic hard rock rather friendly when listening.

"Long Way Home" starts with a first wave of riffs giving to this album a much more heavier sounds than the previous one. And the rest will be almost all along this opus in the same vein, a mixture of power and melodic intensity familiar to Scandinavian productions. Much of the credit goes to Alex Frey who took charge of the bass work, the composition of all the pieces and the production, but also to the vocal score of the excellent Zoran Sandovor - known as Mr Sanders - the Serbian with Johnny Gioeli's voice (Hardline). This "Reflections" exhales as one might expect from the 80's scents and is filled with solos of effective six strings that are longer than usual in the musical style displayed here.

Hymnic titles ('Feel The Heat'), catchy radio songs ('Never Let You Go'), engaging ballads ('Manhattan Memories'), all the ingredients of the successful melodic hard rock opus are on the menu here. The only weakness comes from this damn "Saturday Night" with its insipid chorus repeated sixteen times.

"Reflections" is a production that marks a significant progression in DeVicious's know-how. All melodic hard rock enthusiasts should jump on this pretty success that could lead these people to compete at one of the five steps of the 2019 podium of the genre.
