Originally from the United States, Aaron English evolves in a register that is both seductive and dangerous: neo-progressive rock. Seductive because it's a movement that, thanks to its diversity and ease of access, attracts a large number of music lovers, but dangerous because it's so hackneyed that it's difficult to stand out from the crowd. Is Aaron English one of the many shooting stars whose name is no longer heard after one or two years of career? Nothing is less certain.

It's immediately obvious from the first listen that if you're looking for surprise and originality, this first album won't satisfy your desires: short, immediately assimilable and memorable compositions, no daring experiments, no technical demonstrations, no double pedal or guitar solos to make all the amateur guitarists on the planet depressed. No, none of that. But something just as important: talent and inspiration.

"All The Waters Of This World" kicks off the album with a bang with "Sea Of Nectar" featuring Hispanic harmonies and an original chorus. Folk is very present in the majority of the tracks with for example oriental harmonies dear to progressive rock which support "Ghost Is Broken" and "Mandeleine". The emotion that emanates from "Lullaby" is palpable, thanks especially to this discreet but efficient female voice that gives a last moment of respite before the techno delirium that closes these 50 minutes of happiness.

Obviously, if you're a bit demanding, you'll be far from shouting genius and indeed there's nothing especially fantastic about this artist. But if we were only interested in pure geniuses, our record library wouldn't contain more than ten albums after all. This first album is simply an excellent start that allows us to see in Aaron English a certain potential.
