Sigur Ros is a band that comes to us, for once, from Island. Born in 1994, its members have a very particular idea of their formation which they do not describe as a band but as The Music, concept which is translated by this album having no name, "untitled", with only numbered tracks and lyrics without meaning.

The first reference that comes to mind when listening to this "untitled" is No-Man ("Returning Jesus", "Together We're A Stranger"). The acoustic approach is almost the same, that is to say long, slow, calm and melancholic tracks on which a suave male vocal sometimes neutral, sometimes high-pitched.

With the voice, the acoustic guitar and the piano are the main instruments placed in the foreground. They are accompanied by a quartet of violins, keyboards with soothing and mystical sounds and sometimes by light percussions that just beat the measure. The tracks have more or less the same construction with the repetition (crescendo) from the beginning to the end of the verses on which are added progressively musical parts to arrive shortly before the end of the piece to a certain sound apotheosis.

"Untitled" will thus delight the amateurs of music where the technique is left aside to focus all the attention of the listener on the sound harmonies. As for "Together..." of No-Man, the listening of this kind of album is very far from being ideal in a noisy environment but in a calm and relaxed atmosphere to take advantage of all the subtleties and the intoxicating melodies contained in this "Untitled".
