""judgement" is a real consecration for Anathema ! Don't miss it !"

If their previous album, alternative 4, was a turning point in Anathema's career, presenting this band no longer as Gothic but as atmospheric, "judgement" is a real consecration. And when you say consecration, you mean exceptional album... I therefore invite you to discover one of the albums that brought me the most emotion and thrills.
Judgement is not particularly technical, and is based even on simple and slow movements. Nor is it a stunningly original sound or style. Indeed, the compositions are based on a mixture of more or less heavy riffs as the genre wants and acoustic guitar. In addition to these elements, there are piano parts with short and redundant melodies.
Nothing extraordinary in the substance. But it is precisely in the form that the alchemy makes this album a moment of intense pleasure. From the first to the last track, Anathema plunges us into a world of sadness and regret and shares his doubts with us. Each cry, each lamentation is expressed not only through an extraordinary voice of clarity and intensity but also through the instruments and especially the solos on a saturated guitar background with pink-floydian sounds. Sometimes a female voice is heard to underline a little more the melancholic aspect of the whole and perhaps to remind us that the album deals with a subject concerning both sexes: love relationships.
How many times have I played this album and how many times have I had more than enthusiastic feedback. As one of my five favorite albums among the hundreds I've listened to, I can only urge you to listen to this little gem. - Official website
