The success story continues for Wings Of Steel. On the strength of an excellent debut album, the band toured extensively and enjoyed considerable success. This was followed by a live album recorded in France at the Splendid in Lille. And without wasting any time, the band is back with ‘Winds Of Time’ to continue riding the wave of success.

As if to prove their confidence and maturity, Wings Of Steel kick off the album with a long track, “Winds In Time”. Over ten minutes long, the band really indulge themselves. The heavy speed start, reminiscent of Helloween or Judas Priest, is fabulous, with great epic force. The long break takes us back to the 1970s with airy, atmospheric passages in the footsteps of UFO or Uriah Heep. And the flamboyant heavy finale brings this splendid track to a beautiful close.

“Burning Sands”, “To Die In Holy War” and “Flight Of The Eagle” also mix atmospheres. When the tempo is fast, it's mind-blowing with a rapid solo and powerful high-pitched vocals in a melodic speed spirit. The emphasis is also more classic hard rock, close to the Scorpions of the Uli Jon Roth era, with catchy ethereal moments. In a powerful register, Wings Of Steel hits the mark with “Saints And Sinners”. The ultra-high-pitched vocals stick to the wall and the expression is close to thrash in the vein of a supercharged Accept.

Wings Of Steel also likes sweet treats. “Crying” and “We Rise” are seductive. The first is catchy, not far from 1980s Whitesnake, with a melodic side close to Ratt or Europe. The second is a roguish ballad carried by Leo's seductive voice and an ethereal solo inspired by Parker. With “Light Go Out”, the band takes a nod to Black Sabbath with a doom-tinged riff and a heavy 1970s tone worthy of Rainbow.

Wings Of Steel has released ‘Winds Of Time’, a delightful album offering a beautiful variety of atmospheres. It allows the band to confirm its potential and show that it is not just a fleeting band riding a trend.

Live lineup : Parker HALUB (lead guitar) - Stefan BAILET (Rhythm guitar - Léo UNNERMARK (Lead Vocals) - Mathieu TROBEC (Bass) - Marcel BINDER (Drums)

Drums recorded at Inosound Studio in Nice
