The announcement of Tommy Johansson's departure from Sabaton at the beginning of 2024 disappointed some fans of the Swedish band. But at the same time, the news delighted Majestica fans who had been waiting for a follow-up to the excellent “A Christmas Carol”. When it comes to melodic speed, the band never ceases to impress. So the arrival of their new baby, “Power Train”, was eagerly awaited.

Served by a warm cover, Majestica takes its listeners into a universe full of positivity. The opener, 'Power Train' and 'No Pain, No Gain', is a joy to behold. The band's melodic speed metal is of the highest quality, with Tommy soaring through the high notes with disconcerting ease, confirming his enormous talent as a cross between Bruce Dickinson and Michael Kiske. The choruses are catchy, the riffs and solos racy with an excellent sense of melody.

With 'Battle Cry' and 'Thunder Power', Majestica steps on the gas pedal and signs ultra-fast, blistering tracks, not far from Dragonforce. 'My Epic Dragon' is a Rhapsody-like epic hero-fantasy nugget with a sweetness akin to Freedom Call. 'A Story In The Night' and 'Victorious' are heady affairs, while 'Alliance Anthem' is a moment of bliss, with Tommy at the top of his game.

Majestica's “Power Train” is a top-notch album. It confirms his talent for fresh, catchy, speed-tinged heavy metal. He has all the weapons needed to become a giant of the genre.

Avec le nouveau Avantasia, ce sont les deux bonnes surprises de 2025...en attendant Hartlight ( groupe français dont la chronique n'est pas prévue ?) qui est aussi la révélation du printemps ( pour moi !)🤭

RADIOACTIVE: Reset (2024)
A.O.R. - Returning to the basics of '80s AOR, Radioactive's “Reset” is a well-crafted album that struggles to stand out from the crowd.
MANTRIC MOMENTUM : Alienized (2025)
MELODIC METAL - This “Alienized” by Mantric Momentum - the Pyramaze singer's side project - shines in its first half, but unfortunately runs out of steam at the end.
