Kami No Ikari was founded in Paris in 2020 by Amarino Barros. The idea is to offer melodic deathcore with, as the name suggests, a Japanese theme. An EP entitled “Hakai” was released in 2021, and now the band is offering its debut album, “See You In Hell”.

Carried by a splendid cover that transports us to Japan, the record is a ball of exploding energy. 'Godly Oath', 'Inside You', 'Dead Letter To The Future' and 'Cronos' are of enormous intensity, effectively mixing moods. The orchestration work is remarkable, and the symphonic emphasis is worthy of Fleshgod Apocalypse with a grandiloquent aspect. But is that so surprising when you consider that Francesco Ferrini himself is in charge of the album's orchestrations? Following in the footsteps of Heaven Shall Burn, the raw power of the band's fast, intense, yet melodic riffs is unmistakable.

Even more flamboyant, 'The Forgotten' is close to the symphonic force of Dimmu Borgir. This aspect, combined with even wilder violence, has the effect of an uppercut of rare intensity. In the same spirit, 'Theophobia' is a step above in terms of insane violence, coming closer to a grindcore spirit on the furious passages. 'Final Judgement' and 'The Reason Why' calm things down a little. The violence remains enormous, but the melodic force of the orchestrations takes its rightful place, with clear female vocals in pure symphonic spirit.

With “See You In Hell”, Kami No Ikari strikes a blow. By cleverly mixing influences, it delivers an intense, epic punch. The band has what it takes to become one of the spearheads of the deathcore world.

LEPROUS: Melodies Of Atonement (2024)
ALTERNATIVE METAL - “Mélodies Of Atonement” could well reconcile long-time fans and newcomers alike, as it brings together the very best of what Leprous can do.
ECR.LINF: Belluaires (2024)
BLACK METAL - For its birth certificate, Ecr.Linf strikes a blow with “Belluaires”, a highly personal black metal album whose viscera teems with a darkness as aggressive as it is desperate.
