With “Final Days”, the Germans from Orden Ogan had confirmed their rise to the heights of melodic heavy metal. The band may not have the aura of Helloween or Iron Maiden, but they have built their career with intelligence. The release of “The Order Of Fear” is an event not to be missed by fans of the genre.
From the outset, Orden Ogan hits hard with 'King Of The Underworld'. Very speed, the track stick the listener on the wall, its rhythm straight into the tradition of the genre. Sebastian pushes his voice as rarely before, and the result is a fresh, direct track that's a pleasure to listen to. In the same vein, 'Blind Man' is a joy to listen to, with a strong epic edge and a unifying chorus that's just right for the stage.
At the same time, the band signs several classic tracks in their style. 'The Order Of Fear', 'Moon Fire', 'Conquest' and 'Prince Of Sorrow' are good melodic heavy songs. They have a pleasantly catchy feel, supported by effective choruses. Patrick and Niels enjoy themselves with virtuoso solos, while Sebastian shines with a powerful, melodic tone.
The album's added value comes in the form of a dark, adventurous finale on two long, exciting tracks: 'Anthem To The Darkside' and 'The Long Darkness' are theatrical and cinematic, alternating between epic, heavy and quiet passages with virtuosity. The orchestral piano passages are gripping, exuding emotional power. Sebastian's vocals are once again impeccable as a chilling, horrific storyteller.
“The Order OF Fear” confirms Orden Ogan's talent for first-rate speed-tinged heavy metal. A highly recommended record for fans of a good melodic heavy sound. - Official website
