Riviera Paradise is first and foremost an iconic Stevie Ray Vaughan song, but it's also the name chosen by Julien Giraud, Kourros, Flo and Robin for their band. Originally, their ambition was to pay tribute to the talented musician who passed away too soon, by covering some of his compositions. Over time, however, Riviera Paradise evolved and developed their own musical identity, culminating in the release of their album “Ready For More”.

This album is not simply a collection of songs, but a true statement of intent. It marks the band's journey and passion, while skilfully navigating between diverse musical influences that enrich their sound in subtle ways. After two promising Ep, “Ready For More” pushes back the boundaries of their style, blending blues rock, hard rock and heavy blues with ease. This diversity is precisely what gives this album its charm and makes you want to come back for more.

The album offers raw energy, with each track bearing witness to Riviera Paradise's artistic evolution. Game Master' transports us into a very garage band atmosphere, with a refreshing spontaneity and authenticity. In contrast, 'Rise Above' stands out for its powerful, punchy riffs, revealing a heavier side of the band. War' stands out for its alternative fervor, reminiscent of the intensity of Faith No More, while Kourros deploys a voice close to that of Chris Cornell, offering a rich and varied vocal spectrum.

The instrumental work is equally commendable, with each band member contributing his or her own personal touch. Julien Giraud, on guitar, demonstrates undeniable mastery and creativity, while the rhythm section, provided by Flo and Robin, supports the whole with remarkable precision and dynamics. Flo's deep bass lines and Robin's percussive rhythms blend perfectly with Julien's fiery solos, creating a palpable musical synergy. However, it's worth noting that the production, while generally polished, could at times benefit from a more nuanced approach to fully reveal the subtleties of the band's performance.

“Ready For More” is an ambitious album that testifies to Riviera Paradise's maturity and passion. It is a complete work in which each song contributes to a coherent whole. The album is both a celebration of their influences and an affirmation of their own musical identity. Ultimately, Riviera Paradise 's “Ready For More” is not about looking backwards. They are moving resolutely into the future, ready to explore new musical horizons.
