Inner Light is a metalcore band from France led by Marine, a female singer. She brings a strong personality and sensitivity to her energetic compositions. After a single, 'Inner Light', released in 2022, then a five-track album with a dark, cold cover in 2023, here is a second EP, 'Structure'. Adorned with an icy, futuristic cover, the album aims to break down barriers and codes.
The metalcore-structured compositions stand out thanks to Marine's strong personality, the enthusiasm of the musicians and the quality of the compositions. Sure, the riffs are heavy, but they impose a catchy groove ('Gravity') and move away from metalcore with passages worthy of Carcass ('Circle'). The vocals are the strong point, the essential element of the record. It's as influenced by metalcore as it is by Gojira or Arch Enemy's death, and it's often touching in its sensuality and fragility when it uses clear intonations. Great mastery is another of the album's profound qualities, reinforcing and establishing the groove ('As One') and allowing the musicians to reveal their technical aspirations.
"Structure" is an album of effective compositions designed to overwhelm live audiences. It offers demanding, explosive music with a technical edge. A pleasant record, full of light and violence, whose aura will touch the hearts of fans and warm their souls. - Official website
