Hailing from eastern France, SoldOut was formed at the end of 2020 by Jerney and René. The band have played a fair amount of gigs, taking the time to write material for their debut album, "Pull Down", released by the dynamic Music Records label.

The tone of the album is thrash with a hint of heavy. When SoldOut get things going, they do so with great energy, offering up some stirring tracks ('Nightmare', 'Pull Down', 'HellFire'...). There are some good thrash riffs and some very effective direct solos. The nervous vocals are reminiscent of Megadeth, and the simple, straightforward choruses get your feet tapping in pure hard rock spirit.

Some of the quieter tracks are reminiscent of the kind of US-tinged heavy rock that Five Finger Death Punch are famous for ('Agony', 'Hate', 'Free Mind'). The veiled vocals are effective, as are the catchy melodies. There's a melancholy edge to the music that blends well with some heavy acceleration, particularly in the solos.

"Pull Down" is a very well-made record. SoldOut is the heir to the American sound, mixing power and melody with ease.
