Hailing France, Eight Sins was born in 2006 and has already made a name for itself. Working in the hardcore arena, they have released several albums and performed with renowned bands. "It's A Trap" (2018) emphasized his thrash side to get closer to a crossover sound. The follow-up comes in the form of an album, whose title ("Straight To Namek") and cover hint at its themes. With a wacky edge, Eight Sins showcases manga cinema pop culture.
'Acid Hole' is reminiscent of Slayer, with a mosh worthy of Anthrax. The mix of classic thrash, hardcore and crossover is formidable on tracks like 'Last Action Zero', 'Cops Panic', 'Street Trash' and 'Slice Of Doom'. It's easy to imagine the fury of this live show, with its devastating speed in the footsteps of Slayer. Loïc Pouillon's vocals retain their hardcore color, while his bandmates enjoy themselves. There's Death Angel and Testament on the fast side, but also Municipal Waste when the backing vocals are heard on direct, effective choruses.
"Straight To Namek" is a fine concentration of offbeat delirium and crossover thrash. Eight Sins should delight fans of furious cavalcades and pop culture alike. - Official website
