"Although hatred permeates "Impregnate My Hate", it's sometimes diffuse, too often systematic and lacking in real impact due to a glaring lack of variety."

Whythre, an American band formed in Seattle in 2009, produce thrash-tinged death metal. "Impregnate My Hate", with its pretty, colourful cover, follows their debut album Hel's Hollows, released eight years ago.
The record features effective melodies sprinkled with symphonic orchestration ('Can't Escape This' or 'Scorchbreath') or grandiloquent backing vocals. Solitary guitars spice up the songs, with no disdain for dissonance. The grating vocals unleash cries of despair revealing the dark side of humanity, distilling palpable emotion.
Unfortunately, "Impregnate My Hate" is very monolithic, speeding along at breakneck speed with little breathing space. Everything goes at a hundred miles an hour, giving off great energy, but the constancy of the violence wears thin. Add to this a number of songs that sound like already heard, and the album lacks the surprises that would set it apart from the rest. Finally, the album sometimes is like a rough draft of what it could have been, perhaps due to a production that overwhelms the power of the guitars and drums.
"Impregnate My Hate" offers some very good things, and some not so good. Although Whythre's effective, heartfelt music is full of energy, it doesn't break the genre's codes and lacks variety. - Official website
