Demons Down is the reunion of James Robledo - the singer of Sinner's Blood, Francesco Savino - the guitarist of False Memories, Jimi Bell - the guitarist of House Of Lords and the pair Ken Mary/Chuck Wright who also played in  freelance drums and bass. So, the majority of the musicians called on this opus come from House Of Lords. This leads us to wonder if we are dealing here with a clone of James Christian's band.

In the spirit without any doubt, and by instants fundamentally. Indeed, the band evolves in the Hard Rock so appreciated at the end of the 80's and the beginning of the 90's with melodies larger than life and luxuriant keyboards. Our new friends manage to seduce the listener from the first listening and sometimes, the mimicry is total, especially on the introductions of songs.

'Down In A Hole' and its majestic start is one of them, as well as the eponymous title and its oriental exoticism which also brings back to Rainbow from "Straight Between The Eyes". One thinks of Giant on the haunting 'On My Way To You', and of Queenrÿche's "Operation: Mindcrime" on the more peaceful passages of 'Follow Me', the best track of the opus. Demons Down assures the essential to make its listening pleasant, notably thanks to Robledo whose vocal tessitura evokes both Jorne Lande and James Christian, and the two guitarists who scatter the compositions with some soli are quite convincing.

The nostalgic of the old times will appreciate this first try of Demons Down, which will certainly convince Frontiers to try the adventure again. If at this time it shows a little more originality, its second opus should be able to leave the mass of the productions of the genre in which this "I Stand" remains today stuck in spite of its qualities.

VILLE VALO: Neon Noir (2023)
GOTHIC METAL - "Neon Noir" is not very far from what the singer Ville Valo proposed within H.I.M. with mostly Pop tracks from which emerges a strong melancholy.
GREH: Reversion Of The Repressed (2023)
DOOM - Despite its short fifteen minutes, "Reversion Of Repressed" confirms Greh's abilities for a muddy and severe sludge doom.
