Formed in 2016 in Montpellier, Gate Of Mind is the reunion of buddies from various bands who wanted to please themselves in a new project. After the release of a demo and an EP, the band is back with a new EP, "The Beast Inside". Between groovy thrash and hardcore, Gate Of Mind draws its influences from the 90's and sounds like a mix between Lamb Of God and Pro-Pain.

The record is short and punchy, not getting lost in frills. 'Buried' and 'Insane' mix perfectly the atmospheres. Thibaud tears apart his vocal cords with conviction, especially on the percussive choruses. The music powerfully shakes the listener and the soli are cut in a classic heavy metal, confirming the taste of the band for a varied sound.

With 'Awakening', Gate Of Mind hardens the tone. The track is made to rock live with an effective chorus and strong riffs full of raw energy. 'Face It' puts the groove and the bass in the foreground and sounds like a supercharged Lamb Of God. The track stands out from the rest with a nice calm break giving off an airy atmosphere full of feeling.

Gate Of Mind confirms on "The Beast Inside" its qualities and its strength to mix the genres. Let's wait for the full album that will totally launch a promising career.

OTHER REVIEWS
STRYPER: The Final Battle (2022)
MELODIC METAL - Mature and sure of his strength, Stryper delivers one of his best sermons with "The Final Battle" which turns out to be a formidable string of pieces as powerful as melodic.
THE PRETTY RECKLESS: Other Worlds (2022)
HARD ROCK - Hybrid product, "Other Words" is not essential but confirms the good taste and the talent of The Pretty Reckless who, even in semi-acoustic mode, manages to stand out.
