Apart from the fans of Spanish metal, the name of Isra Dante Ramos must speak to very few metalheads. The frontman of Amadeus, Alquimia, and Avalanch until last year, is however the cornerstone of a new band that has been gathering a lot of good feedbacks on the Web since its first singles were released. Until then, Ramos' name has only been associated with the power metal environment. Presumably tired of the genre, he chose with his new band to embark on a hard rock/alternative metal project sailing between Muse and Degreed. Not shying away from evoking punctually A.C.T., Linkin Park, Brother Firetribe and Queen, the mix could appear intriguing but it is nevertheless perfectly successful.
Supported by big guitars and bouncing drums, the melodies here are striking from the first listening. Reinforced by enticing synth touches, crossed by electronic sounds, carried by abundant choirs and remarkable rhythm changes, they become quickly addictive. Ramos ensures a solid performance, his warm and elegant voice carrying with a constant emotion the asserted melodies.
This "Hope" is thus a box of hits. They will stay for a long time in the minds of all those who will dare to take the step of listening to this opus far from the stereotypes of the genre. In the little game of prize distribution, 'Atreyu' resurrects Linkin Park, 'Blind Love' goes from A.C.T. to Muse, then sends a melodic metal chorus. The golden palm goes to 'Evergarden' where Ronnie Romero invites himself and takes Muse on the lands of Lords Of Black. This clash of titans shatters all the fundamentals of melodic metal. Finally, the terribly endearing 'Snow White' takes us to the cabaret where you can hear A.C.T., Muse and Queen.
Excellent summer surprise, "Hope" gives the chance to discover a new talented Spanish combo. Those who are not averse to mixtures of genres will know how to venture towards this U.F.O. and will not regret it. A guaranteed hit!
