For fifteen years, the Americans of Fit For An Autopsy have been spreading violence, dissonant sounds and aggressiveness. With their five albums of very violent deathcore, they have met with success, notably with "Absolute Hope Absolute Hell". Music Waves had appreciated "The Sea Of Tragic Breasts", an energetic, melodic and melancholic record... The Americans release "Oh What The Future Holds", a record where the trio of guitars (Will Putney, Pat Sheridan and Tim Howley) builds methodically a wall of sound.

From the opening seconds of 'Pandora', a startling power explodes in your face, even if the record's introduction was deceptively gentle. Intensity is the main element of the album, as on the second track where the frenzied rhythm and thunderous blasts overwhelm the listener.  However, even during hyper violent passages, there is always a note of softness. The final track is the perfect example, as it punctuates the opus with its moving choirs.

The strength of the record is to offer a relative softness as a counterpoint to the deathcore fury. This balance is induced by rhythmic percussions, by a very nervous guitar ('Far From Heaven'), by beautiful solos and by a clear voice with a spectral beauty worthy of the Kevin Moore productions.

"Oh What The Future Holds" is a beautiful and varied album, between ice and fire, violence and sweetness. It is a success that not only is a pleasure to listen to but also makes you want to come back to it to appreciate the smallest details.
