"The Omega Stream releases with "Dystopia" an EP which mixes electro and metal. A dark and futuristic music that feeds on raw power."

The old fashioned metal played by bearded men is gradually replaced by their young heirs, bearded too... The Omega Stream, which belongs to this new wave, redefines the contours of an electro-metal, between artificial sounds and metalcore with a progressive tendency (maybe this progressive note is due to the bassist who officiates in Altesia). They released their first EP, "Dystopia", a dive into a universe where the artificial is next to the musical variety fed by an explosive energy.

The songs draw their inspiration from metalcore, djent or progressive ('Trapped In A Dream'). As for the themes, the record is an exploration of our dark sides, as the lyrics of 'A Body With No Soul' underline. But this dark side is counterbalanced by a certain warmth. Thus the introduction of 'A Body With No Soul' is based on ethnic percussions which bring a silky groove. This is the first strength of the EP: to communicate this groove so particular.

The second strong point of the record lies in its multiple melodies. They come as well from the riffs of synthesizers, from the beautiful solitary guitars ('Anthem' or 'Trapped In A Dream'), breaths in the middle of a furnace, essential to the coherence of the tracks. Some acoustic passages contrast with a brutal metallic energy ('F.E.A.R'). These oppositions break conventions and are a way to surprise the listener while asserting their freedom.

Finally, the biggest surprise of "Dystopia" comes from its right use of the electro palette. Here the synthesizers melt into the decor, while for others they are a simple dressing. The Omega Stream gives birth to a very organic and human musical fusion. Through this mix of genres, the band adds warmth to icy electro passages, giving shape to a world where electronics and tube amps play the game of emotion on equal terms.

Proud and conscious of their metallic heritage, the youngsters of The Omega Stream release a record as free as respectful. "Dystopia" is a great success, an EP full of qualities (melodies, groove, a touch of prog and solar energy) whose music will reconcile the old fashioned metalheads and the new generation of furious people.
