Winners of many local competitions, the Luxembourgish band Atomic Rocket Seeders put all their energy, and they don't lack it, in their first album. Released at the end of 2020, this eponymous album will find its place on the "alternative" shelf of your discotheque.

Led by an energetic singer and guitarist, Thierry Porcedda (a.k.a. Tap), the trio officiates in a polymorphic metal made of stoner rock, metalcore and 70's hard rock. It is 'The Marvelous Journey Of Captain Johnny Green' that probably best characterizes this first album. The track jumps from Slipknot to Jimi Hendrix with a shamanic Tool break of the most beautiful effect.

The groovy riff of 'Take Some More' with its humming bass or the hypnotic 'Revolution 2.0' are more clearly on the stoner side with a classic rock chorus smelling of the 70s. Add to that a vocal oscillating between an expressive clear voice and raging screamos and you get an explosive cocktail accentuated by a trio format which multiplies the energy of the three musicians (that we would have thought more numerous on many occasions).

The destructured construction of 'Black Strawberries', its syncopated riffs, its hypnotic break and its crazy vocals reinforce the alternative side of the three companions who, liking to jump from one style to another, offers a hard rock fireball with a fat riff and Woddstockian flights just after it. The album ends on an improbable and intoxicating cover of Tears For Fears' 'Mad Word', calmer than the original, at least until the last bars, much heavier than the version of the duo Orzabal & Smith.

If the band still seems to look for its way, it has the merit to integrate perfectly these various styles in a rich and varied music. The subject is raw and incisive, sticking very well to the approached genres. Let's hope that the margin of progression of Atomic Rocket Seeders is as big as its potential, which could generate exciting future productions. In the meantime, don't miss this alternative metal album with a communicative energy.

ARC OF LIFE: Arc Of Life (2021)
PROGRESSIVE ROCK - If it was necessary to operate a classification of value within the discography of Yes for this first effort of Arc of Life, it would be to classify between the despairing "Open your Eyes" and the little convincing "Heaven & Earth".
ENFORCED: Kill Grid (2021)
THRASH - With "Kill Grid", Enforced offers a nice little thrash crossover bomb that should delight fans of Slayer and Municipal Waste.
