Amplifier is a group from the United Kingdom that has been praised by the British press since the release of their first album. The term English is not appropriate for this composition of three musicians; Sel Balamir who is in charge of vocals and guitars is an English from London, Neil Mahony who is on bass is an Irish from Dublin and Matt Brobin (drums) is a Welsh from Cardiff. The three friends moved to Manchester and released their first album in 2003.

"Insider" is the second album of these young artists. Their music can be described as Post-rock: a mixture of grunge with heavy rhythms coated with psychedelicho-prog keys... To make it simple, you mix Nirvana, Tool, Vanden Plas, bands like Blind Melon or King's X and you get Amplifier !  "O fortuna", "Insider" are accessible and well constructed tracks but if the talent of the musicians is not to be questioned, the modern-rock side did not raise in me a great desire to play this album over and over again.

The production is at the top, Steve Lyon (The Cure, Depeche Mode) and Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters) have put themselves in charge.

This album is therefore primarily aimed at Heavy fans of the "Tool" who should fall under his spell (which can already make a significant fan-base). The creative potential is there, the technique is present and the English mass media are doing their work of over-mediatization. The trio should therefore be well received and sales should follow... That's all we can wish them.

OTHER REVIEWS
A.C.T.: Silence (2006)
PROGRESSIVE ROCK - Undefinable and terribly endearing, the most prolific country in progressive rock brings us here one of the thousand and one wonders of which it conceals.
TOOL: 10,000 Days (2006)
ATMOSPHERIC METAL - Five years after "Lateralus", which was hailed as a marvel of the genre, "10,000 days" will delight the fans and should convert the most reluctant.
