"This second EP confirms the qualities heard in "Unborn" but goes further in diversity and emotional depth."

A little over a year ago we met a french band with an exotic name who released their first EP, "Unborn". Hauméa is back with their second EP, whose title "Leaving" resonates in a special way in these uncertain times.

If the objective of an EP is sometimes to give itself a playground to experiment and propose ideas that are not always worked, this is not the case with "Leaving". Relying on the experience of their first short record, the band offers seven accomplished tracks. The work done by the musicians is notable and is transmitted in the diversity of the atmospheres and the alternation of strong and powerful beats and calmer sequences ('Sick' and 'Breath' which mix unifying songs and heavy atmosphere). The nuance carried by the songs, raging in 'Lorelei' or intimate in 'Bones', is a vector of always more depth.

Hauméa lets himself be guided by his nature and his desires. If this leads to include French in his lyrics then he doesn't censor himself and combine sometimes French and English in the same song. This unfiltered inner listening provides the instinctive side of the emotions conveyed, often imbued with a black poetry not so far from Noir Désir's ('Bones'), or a dark and disenchanted melancholy ('I Know Them', 'Lorelei'). To exorcise the demons they have inside them, the four musicians compose music as others see 'someone' or can write books and the process takes the form of liberation. Indeed, it is a Hauméa who grooves in 'Marbre' and 'Breath' or who pushes the audacity and technicality in the instrumental interlude 'Erasing US From Lie', the solos and the black metal-inspired picking of 'I Know Them'.

If the primary motivation of this EP is to support the fertile dynamics and to occupy the ground, it is not at the expense of quality. On the contrary, Hauméa asserts its intentions with force in a liberating "Leaving" that augurs the best for a future album.

DOOM - My Dying Bride is back with a rich and profound album, more accessible and highlighting an Aaron Stainthorpe at the top of his art.
BURNING WITCHES: Dance With The Devil (2020)
HEAVY METAL - Melodic and sharp, "Dance With The Devil" is a powerful concentration of Heavy Metal anthems to which it seems difficult not to succumb.
