"Like its cover, "Never Not Together" offers a luminous and pure music, with a certain pop rock and folk charm that Nada Surf is used to offer us."

At a regular rhythm, Nada Surf goes back up on its board to release a new achievement. So, 4 years after "You Know Who You Are", the Americans offers us "Never Not Together" to continue to prove that they are not the band of one single hit, the so much estimated 'Popular'. The combo never lost any of its aura thanks to a discography of a constant quality and especially in France with which it maintains a special relationship, especially its leader who is very Francophile.
The sleek cover is in the image of Nada Surf's music, light and above all luminous. It is not this new album that will call into question the style of the band, a high-class pop rock in which the band evolves very little. In the end, it doesn't matter because it's a genre that doesn't lend itself to it. Unsurprisingly, "Never Not Together" is a digest of tracks, each one more pleasant than the other, highlighting the melodic talent of the composers.
The whole offers a coherent balance with very assimilable tracks like 'So Much Love' very close to beatles with its shimmering simplicity or the more folk 'Come Get Me' bathed in a nice acoustic that is classic but efficient, and some more electric like 'Something I Should Do' accompanied by some vintage keyboard layers or 'Ride In The Unknow' which is based on the same atmosphere. 'Looking For You' is a surprising track with an intro sung by a choir, preamble to the development of a melancholic atmosphere that sticks well to Nada Surf, accentuated by discreet strings.
Even if "Never Not Together" doesn't revolutionize the band's music because of an obvious lack of risk taking, it's still an album with a charming pop rock flavour that listen to in a pleasant way. - Official website
