"Undress Your Madness" is Pretty Maids' 14th album since "Red Hot And Heavy" was released 35 years ago. The Danish combo is a mastodon. Few bands of the 80's still in activity today who have not steadily declined over the decades. There was only a single error in the hollow of the 90s with the album "Stripped" that everyone kindly agreed to forget. Otherwise, it's a flawless discography that Pretty Maids can be proud of, especially with the magic square of albums he's thrown between our ears since 2010.

Let's first reassure fans of the band, the magic potion is the same. The combo alternates once again between agressive tracks and more radio friendly songs. At most, it is worth noting some ingredient substitutions with the arrival of a new keyboard and a recent drummer. As for Atkins, his voice, sometimes aggressive and deviant, sometimes musical and soothing, is always a real delight. Rare are the singers who can be recognized by the first vocals. Ronnie Atkins is one of them, as was his namesake, too soon gone.

Pretty Maids did not go wrong by proposing as a single "Serpentine" which opens the album. This thundering track is the archetype of what the combo can do in an atavistic way. Noise, fury and a seductive melody that clings to the meanders of your cortex. "Firesoul Fly" following him is connoted soft hard rock. The melodic line is reminiscent of a hymn to brandish our beers with his Thin Lizzy solo.

This is the case throughout this opus, which alternates between muscular movements and more restrained atmospheres. The eponymous track, with its catchy solo, and the bulldozer 'If You Want Peace (Prepare For War)', illuminated by a well-punched chorus and carried by an astonishing rhythmic, are jewels. The enchanting 'Will You Still Kiss Me (If I See You In Heaven)' and the strong FM 'Runaway World' and 'Shadowlands', which refers to the Danish hit 'Little D rops Of Heaven', are gems. The ballad "Strengh Of A Rose" completes the album with a little more sweetness.

Pretty Maids has once again hit hard. The mastodon is still alive, let us pray that he will continue his journey for a long time to come.
