The dream team is back. A year and a half after "Resurrection", the Michael Schenker Fest is back with "Revelation". The concept is the same with the four main singers who accompanied the German guitarist, Graham Bonnet, Gary Barden, Robin McAuley and Doogie White.

The construction is the same with three titles in common and two titles per singer. The three common songs are exciting and the singers are in harmony. 'Rock Steady','Sleeping With The Light On' and 'Old Man' are melodic metal nuggets with perfect choruses, an impeccable 70's side and remarkable musical work. Before approaching each singer, we must pay tribute to Michael Schenker. The guitarist shines on each riff and solo and this is felt on the instrumental "Ascension", a huge class.

And there are those strong personalities who put their egos aside and bring their talent. At 71 years of age, Graham Bonnet defies time. On 'The Beast In The Shadows' and 'Still In The Fight', his rocky voice works wonders. There is a class worthy of the best of Rainbow with a huge 70's charm. Heavier,'Under A Blood Red Sky' and 'Behind The Smile' confirm Doogie White's class and send us into the best of the MSG of recent years. In the hearts of fans, Gary Barden remains Michael Schenker's singer. 'Crazy Daze' and 'Headed For The Sun' will delight them. There is this delicious 80's tone, impeccable choruses and remarkable musical work with a slight touch of the keyboard. On 'Silent Again' and 'Lead You Astray', Robin McAuley also sounds great with his powerful voice. These titles happily refer to his rich collaboration with Schenker. Finally, Ronnie Romero intervenes on a track. And we understand from listening to 'We Are The Voice' why Ritchie Blackmore hired him in Rainbow so much his vocal tone close to Dio gives the thrill.

"Revelation" is a splendid album from a group of friends. The Michael Schenker Fest is very well named because you can feel the idea of a celebration. This band is also a rejuvenation for each of the members and for a brilliant Schenker who keeps the same enthusiasm of a beginner he was when he arrived in Scorpions more than 45 years ago.
