Better late than never says the proverb... In this case, Buy Jupiter presents its third EP "Eclipse" which closes a trilogy started in 2016 with a "Departure" directly inspired by Isaac Asimov's short story ("Dear Jupiter" in VF).
This third and final chapter evokes the return to Jupiter of the Jovian survivors who manage to defeat the Nexian occupants and in particular their God, Xanu alias "the Devourer of the Worlds", cosmic musical twin of the Super Villain of the Marvel universe, Galactus.
Musically, references that the band claims are Meshuggah, Textures, After the Burial, Between the Buried and Me and Opeth... And the starter, 'Arrival' doesn't lie about these influences reminding us of the best hours of Textures to which would be added an acoustic-atmospheric melancholic break dear to Opeth.
If these tempting references make you salivate just by listing them, know that they are nothing compared to the auditory excitement you will get by listening to this introductory track. And you can count on 'The Merging' and 'Obscured' or even the short instrumental finale 'Outro' to keep the pleasure going.
The band is swimming in the murky waters of modern progressive metal where bands are legion but few really manage to reach such a level. With this third EP of a little more than 20 minutes, Buy Jupiter's talent explodes in front of the stage, making him one of the probable future leaders of the genre.
We can only too strongly recommend you to listen to this third installment of Buy Jupiter's space adventures and look at the triptych in its entirety to prolong the too short sound orgasm provided by this EP, while waiting for the next delivery that we hope will be long-lasting to allow the band to pass a new milestone. - Official website
