The great adventure continues for Overdrivers. In the wake of the re-release of their excellent first album, the band is back with "She's On Her Period". This album is much awaited, Overdrivers having shown a certain talent for a simple and direct hard rock in an Australian style of the Seventies. For its new album the band goes straight to the point. Its disc is 100% hard rock, the titles scroll at full speed and a certain maturity is felt in the songs.
The first side of the album is full of missiles cut in the best of a hard rock influenced by AC/DC and Rose Tattoo. The start with 'The Best Blowjob In History' is perfect. The longest track on the album brings together the qualities you'd expect with a bourbon-scented vocals from Adrien, punchy choruses and catchy riffs. 'Hellhounds' and 'Mister Moo' make you tap your foot in rhythm. Next to these fireworks, 'Show Your Boobies' and 'She's On Her Period' sound like real life stories as Bon Scott liked to tell them. On the guitar, Anthony is always as brilliant as ever and signs hot solos that stick to the wall by their dynamism.
The second side of the album starts with 'Bottom's Up', an excellent instrumental tinged with Irish influences, fresh and full of feeling. Afterwards, Overdrivers unrolls a hard rock know-how. 'King Arthur' and 'Get Out With Your Bigfoot' are classics of the style with always a beautiful simplicity and excellent choruses. 'High Mountains' shows a more haunting, slightly bluesy side with another great solo.
With 'She's On Her Period', Overdrivers confirms all the good things we thought of him. Worthy heir of the big names of hard rock, he has all the cards in hand to impose himself widely. In the meantime it will not be necessary to miss it on stage, which he makes burn with a mad energy. - Official website
