In spite of more than thirty years of career, Flotsam And Jetsam remains in the collective unconscious a band of the 80s. It has nevertheless offered some interesting records with notably the last one of the same name in 2016 which showed a band in great shape. "The End Of Chaos" comes with a cover clearly referring to the first album. After a period during which he had slowed down the tempo, Flotsam And Jetsam is back and shows a remarkable will worthy of a young first.

On the 12 tracks that make up the disc, there is hardly any time to breathe. The band throws a punchy Thrash metal and many of the songs show a lot of potential to stirring up the crowds in concert. Thus we can highlight no less than 7 titles that sound like the perfect meeting between Testament and Slayer. 'Prisoner Of Time', 'Slowly Insane', 'Unwelcome Surprise', 'Demolition Man', 'Snake Eye', 'The End' and 'Control' are punchy on all levels, with fast and mind-blowing riffs and solos, an intense rhythm and a remarkably strong vocals. Eric A.K. is huge with a lot of aggression while keeping a good melodic side on high quality choruses.

Beside these uppercuts titles, Flotsam And Jetsam makes speak its heavy metal side thanks again to Eric's vocals. The latter is not only a Thrash screamer, he proposes a tone close to Geoff Tate's for the deep and melodic side. Thus 'Recover', 'Architects Of Hate', 'Survive' and 'Good To Bad' are excellent moments that perfectly mix power and melody.

With "The End Of Chaos", Flotsam And Jetsam shows that you can still be credible after a long career and a lot of records. He strikes a nice blow with a remarkably fresh Thrash that should delight fans. This outstanding record is a nice candidate for the podium of the year in the genre.
