Blaze Bayley and his men have kept their promise and are back one year after the second part of Infinite Entanglement for the ending of their trilogy. "The Redemption Of William Black" reunites the same team with the musicians of Absolva. If the first two parts were of high quality, trimmed in the best of melodic heavy metal, the question which arises is to know if the trilogy will be a no-fault on the whole album?

The first element that strikes us is the optimism that prevails on this opus. This one is built like a story with an overlap between heavy tracks and epic moments strong in emotions. We feel all the dramatic strength of this last part with some spoken passages to stress out this effect. But when Blaze and his friends want to sound heavy, they do it in style. And from the beginning, the trio formed by 'Reedemer', 'Are You Here' and 'Immortal One' doesn't pretend. The short and direct, perfect choruses and burning solos make their effect and should be a hit on live. Blaze is perfect with this hushed tone that suits him so well. The Dark Side Of Black', 'Prayers of Light' and 'Already Won' are equally strong. From the vocals to the solos and the riffs, we are bluffed by the ease and the chemistry that prevail in the band. Blaze even has fun singing quite high and is well served by very well led choruses.

The epic and emotional aspect is also widely honored and contributes to the strength of the album, Blaze and his men multiplying the moments of bravery ('Virus' or 'Afraid To Shoot Stranger'). We find in 'The First True Sign', 'Life Goes On', 'Human Eyes' and '18 Days' the discreet acoustic passages, the pure vocals full of feeling as well as the rise in power leading to galloping soli. The final touch comes with 'Eagle Spirit' which, on more than 8 minutes, is the perfect conclusion of the album by gathering all the heavy, epic and melodic qualities of Blaze and his musicians.
Blaze Bayley thus closes in a very beautiful way a trilogy which allowed him to relaunch his career and to find a certain popularity. "The Redemption Of William Black" is a concentration of the best that heavy melodic music can offer.
