Sinner offers us in this year of grace 2017 his eighteenth album since 1982. This average of one album every two years for the past 35 years makes the band an obvious candidate for the podium of prolific bands with a high longevity. The German band, led by the tireless and unquenchable Matt Sinner, has crossed the eras by varying the pleasures, cheerfully switching at random from hard rock to metal, from heavy speed to glam metal and from heavy metal to today's sounds... those of Thin Lizzy.

The frontman indeed leads his colleagues, mostly from his other bands Primal Fear, Silent Force and Voodoo Circle, to the musical lands of Phil Lynott on this "Tequila Suicide" which sounds more Thin Lizzy than Scott Gorham's Black Star Riders! It's not surprising that Ricky Warwick, the vocalist of the latest, comes to support Matt Sinner whose voice is also not at the antipodes of the famous singer. His compatriot Dennis Ward produces the opus in his own way, that is to say "loud & clear". As for the guitarists Gus G (Ozzy Osbourne and Firewind) and Magnus Karlson (Primal Fear, Allen/Lande, Place Vendome), they come to enrich the team as guest stars. A great group of people for a great album.

Indeed, this "Tequila Suicide" is full of qualities as long as you don't dislike Thin Lizzy. Because the resemblance is amazing and we can only be happy to hear again these muscular and melodic sounds. Much closer to the great model than to Black Star Riders, Sinner offers here probably the best opus of his catalog. Particularly dynamic and certainly carried towards an obvious effort of melodic seduction, this opus of ten tracks from which no weakness emerges will take you back a few years to the time when Lynott's band decided to tighten up their game with the release of their final work "Thunder And Lightning".

Whether Lizzy's fans should not miss this "Tequila Suicide", they would miss the unique opportunity to make a joyful jump in the past by listening to an opus so close to their idols' productions.

FUSION METAL - If "Bloodlust" doesn't manage to make us relive the same crazy emotions as "Body Count", it's still one of the best albums of the band since... a long time.
