The sweet sixties are coming to an end. And while 'Good Golly Miss Molly', the sultry single from the previous album, is still touring on vinyl record decks all over the world, 'Bad Moon Rising' arrives in March 69, announcing the future "Green River" and will remain three weeks number 1 in sales in England. Considered by many as the best album of the band, the record will even finish 95th in the Rolling Stone ranking of the 500 best rock albums in history.

'Green River' speaks once again of Fogerty's magical childhood, a recurring theme in the Creedence lyrics. The title, light and sun-drenched, will soon become another classic of the band which has (almost) no need to make covers anymore and most of the titles of this album will become classics. The recipe does not change, the unique, hoarse and nasal voice of Fogerty, a very typical country guitar at the service of rock and blues, a rhythmic often hopping and basic ('Commotion'), and a real and constant freshness.

The swarming, slow rock 'n' roll on 'Tombstone Shadow', the pre-nostalgic 'Wrote Song For Everyone' as well as his touching alter ego 'Lodi' and the bluesy finale that is 'The Night Time Is The Right Time' (and its delicious "Wah Do Day"), are as many moments of pleasure savored for almost 50 years all over the world. And to return to our introduction, how could we not mention the mystical and post-apocalyptic 'Bad Moon Rising', brought to posterity in 1981 in 'The Werewolf of London' by John Landis.

Deeper and richer in various emotions than its predecessors, a true calling card of an unavoidable band, "Green River" is an indispensable album.
