This year, just like last year, we asked you to choose your album of the year 2021 directly on the Music Waves website.

So we first asked you to vote for your favorite album from a list of 22 albums from the Music Waves editorial staff's Top 2021. The albums having received the most votes then compete in direct confrontations.

Here are the four albums that received the most votes and therefore qualified for the semi-finals:

- DREAM THEATER - A View From The Top Of The World
- ALTESIA - Embryo
- SYLVAN - One To Zero
- ISILDURS BANE AND PETER HAMMILL - In Disequilibrium

The first semi-final was won by DREAM THEATER with 78.95% of the vote against ISILDURS BANE AND PETER HAMMILL who received 21.05% of the vote.
The second semi-final was won by ALTESIA with 55.56% of the votes against SYLVAN who received 44.44% of the votes.

The final therefore pitted ALTESIA against DREAM THEATER last week!

And it was ALTESIA that emerged victorious from this terrible confrontation with 59.09% of the votes against 40.91% for DREAM THEATER.

Congratulations to ALTESIA for this great victory! And if you don't know this group yet, the album "Embryo" has been in stores since September.

"With this melodic and inspired "Embryo", Altesia imposes itself as one of the best progressive metal bands."
