Oomph! is a German music group formed in 1989 in Wolfsburg. The band is known for its unique blend of industrial metal, alternative rock and electronica.
Founded by three core members, Dero Goi (vocals, drums), Robert Flux (guitar, keyboards) and Andreas Crap (guitar, keyboards), Oomph! released their debut album, entitled "Oomph!", in 1992, which was well received by critics and began to establish the band on the German music scene. However, it was with their second album, "Sperm", released in 1994, that Oomph! really caught the public's attention. The album featured songs such as 'Ich bin du' and 'Fieber', which became band classics.
Oomph! continued to release albums on a regular basis and to develop their musical style. Their albums "Wunschkind" (1996) and "Plastik" (1999) were very well received and propelled the band onto the international scene.
In 2001, Oomph! released the album "Ego", which was a huge success in Germany and was certified gold. The album also marked an evolution in the band's sound, with more electronically oriented influences. Further albums such as "Monster" (2008), "Des Wahnsinns fette Beute" (2012) and "XXV" (2015), which celebrated the band's 25th anniversary, contributed to the band's success.
After 30 years of loyal service, singer Dero Goi has decided to leave the band. He is replaced by Daniel 'Der' Schulz on their fifteenth album released in 2023, "Richter Und Henker".
