Muse is a British rock band formed in 1994 in Teignmouth, Devon. It comprises three core members: Matthew Bellamy (vocals, guitar, piano), Christopher Wolstenholme (bass, backing vocals) and Dominic Howard (drums, percussion).
Muse released their debut album, "Showbiz", in 1999, which was well received by critics but not an immediate commercial success. It was the second album, "Origin of Symmetry" (2001), that really catapulted the band onto the international scene and brought them worldwide recognition, with hits such as "Plug In Baby" and "New Born" becoming band classics.
Their third album, "Absolution" (2003), was a huge commercial success and confirmed Muse's position as a major rock band. It was followed by "Black Holes and Revelations" (2006), which received critical acclaim and was an even bigger commercial success. The album included hits such as 'Supermassive Black Hole' and 'Knights of Cydonia'.
Muse continued to release critically acclaimed albums and attract an ever-widening audience with titles such as 'Uprising' (2009), 'Madness' (2012) and 'Psycho' (2015). Their album "Drones" (2015) won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album and was hailed for its conceptual theme and musical scope.
Over the years, Muse have also forged a reputation as an incredibly powerful and innovative live band. Their concerts are renowned for their spectacular production, featuring giant screens, breathtaking light shows and captivating live performances.
In addition to their commercial success, Muse have won numerous awards and honors, including several BRIT Awards and MTV Video Music Awards. The band has also been praised for its commitment to social and environmental causes, and has actively supported organizations such as Oxfam and Amnesty International.
