TORPEDO - 02.11.2023
NOFX's origins date back to the early 1980s in Los Angeles, California. The band was formed by singer and bassist Fat Mike (Michael Burkett) and guitarist Eric Melvin. Their raw, fast and melodic sound, combined with satirical and politically charged lyrics, quickly caught the attention of the local punk scene.

Over the years, NOFX developed their own distinctive style, blending punk rock, skate punk and hardcore. The band released several independent albums that helped forge their underground reputation. Their 1994 album "Punk in Drublic" and especially the 1999 EP "The Decline" were major turning points for the band, becoming commercial successes and establishing their reputation beyond the punk scene.

One of NOFX's most distinctive characteristics is their provocative, potty sense of humor. Their lyrics are often satirical, tackling social and political issues with a dose of irony. NOFX has never been afraid to push boundaries and provoke controversy. The band has found itself at the center of several scandals, notably for controversial statements on stage and in the media. Although known for their irreverent spirit, NOFX have also displayed a strong political commitment. They have often used their music to address social and political issues, criticizing injustice and the status quo. The band has actively supported causes such as animal rights, the environment and the fight against racism.

NOFX have left a lasting imprint on the punk rock scene. Their influence can be felt across generations of bands who have been inspired by their music and attitude. The band continues to tour and release new albums, staying true to their image.

NOFX frontman Fat Mike is known for wearing dresses, kilts and other unconventional outfits during concerts, reinforcing the band's irreverent and humorous image.
