Bruce Dickinson was born in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, England. He developed a passion for music at an early age, and began singing with local bands in his teens. In the late 1970s, he joined the band Samson as lead singer.

In 1981, Bruce Dickinson was approached by Iron Maiden, an up-and-coming heavy metal band, to replace their former singer Paul Di'Anno. He accepted the offer and made his debut on the 1982 album "The Number of the Beast". The album was a huge success, and Dickinson's powerful vocals and charismatic stage performances quickly became synonymous with the band's identity.

Throughout the 1980s, Iron Maiden released a series of highly successful albums, including "Piece of Mind" (1983), "Powerslave" (1984) and "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" (1988). These albums contain some of the band's most iconic songs, such as 'The Trooper', 'Aces High' and 'Run to the Hills'. Bruce Dickinson's songwriting contributions became more significant during this period.

In 1990, Bruce Dickinson decided to leave Iron Maiden and embark on a solo career. He released his first solo album, "Tattooed Millionaire", the same year, with a hard rock bent. This was followed by several releases up to the end of the 2000s, including "Accident Of Birth" in 1997 and "The Chemical Wedding" in 1999, two of his best albums.

In 1999, Bruce Dickinson joined Iron Maiden, who released "Brave New World" in 2000, marking a triumphant return for Dickinson and Iron Maiden. The album was both critically acclaimed and commercially successful.

Bruce Dickinson's solo career was thought to have come to a halt with 2005's 'Tyranny Of Souls', but he surprised everyone with the release of 'The Mandrake Project' in 2024, with his faithful accomplice Roy Z at his side. Moving away from the Iron Maiden sound, the album is once again a success, in a colourful and deliciously catchy cinematic hard rock genre.

In addition to his musical career, Bruce Dickinson is also a professional airplane pilot. He has flown charters and flies Iron Maiden's Boeing 747-400 himself on the band's world tours.

Bruce Dickinson has also embarked on other ventures. He has written two novels, "The Adventures of Lord Iffy Boatrace" and "The Missionary Position", and has appeared on radio and television.
