Moongarden is an Italian progressive rock band formed in 1994, who made their mark on the progressive rock scene in the 2000s.
PASCALJ - 06.12.2023
Moongarden was born in the early '90s, with a cassette demo containing a few tracks written and arranged by Cristiano Roversi (keyboards, bass) and David Cremoni (guitar). This demo was subsequently released on CD under the title "Moonsadness" in 1993, on the Mellow Records label.

A few months later, Cris and David recorded, with a different line-up, a cover of "Living forever" from the "We can't dance" album on the Genesis tribute and, in 1994, they released a cover of Osanna's "There will be time" on the "Zarathustra's Revenge" album (The 70's Italian Progressive tribute album).

In 1995, during the recording sessions for "Brainstorm of Emptiness", Moongarden was finally able to work on a full-length album. This was Moongarden's second official "Mellow Records" album, but their first "real" album. This album also sees the arrival of Massimiliano Sorrentini on drums, and Ricki Tonco on vocals.

A long period of inactivity, due to a number of personal problems, then began, and it was not until 4 years later that Cristiano decided to work on new material and breathe new life into the project. Luca Palleschi joins the band as the new singer, and a few months later "The gates of Omega" is ready, the 3rd official album. It represents, at this point, the most complex and mature work produced by the band.

Over the years, Moongarden has released several other well-received albums, including "Songs from the Lighthouse" (2008) and "Voyeur" (2014). Each of the band's albums has presented an evolution of their style, incorporating new elements. A new album is scheduled for release in 2023.

As a progressive rock band, Moongarden have managed to captivate fans of the genre with their creativity, melodic flair and impeccable technical execution. Their music is a harmonious blend of calm, atmospheric passages with more energetic, powerful moments, creating an immersive musical experience.
