ADMINISTRATION - 29.01.2024
Neal Morse was born on 2 August 1960 in Van Nuys, California. His musical career began in the 1980s when he formed the group Spock's Beard with his brother Alan. The group is renowned for its complex compositions and conceptual albums, such as "The Light" (1995), "Beware of Darkness" (1996) and "The Kindness of Strangers" (1998).

Neal Morse's solo career took off in 2002 when he left Spock's Beard to give free rein to his spiritual beliefs. His first solo album, 'Testimony' (2003), was a double album that received critical acclaim for its ambitious storytelling and complex musical arrangements.

After "Testimony", Neal Morse continued his solo journey with opuses such as "One" (2004), another double album exploring themes of faith and spirituality, and "? (2005), which showcases his versatility by blending progressive rock, pop and classical influences.

While 'Sola Scriptura' (2007) focuses on historical and religious themes, in particular the life of Martin Luther, 'Lifeline' (2008) marks a return to a more collaborative approach, with Morse's touring band and a live, spontaneous sound.

Every few years thereafter, Neal Morse released a new album under his own name or as The Neal Morse Band, all of which were well received by the critics.

In addition to his work with Spock's Beard and his solo career, Neal Morse has taken part in various side projects. In 2000 with Transatlantic, in which he teamed up with Mike Portnoy (ex-Dream Theater), Roine Stolt (The Flower Kings) and Pete Trewavas (Marillion), Yellow Matter Custard in 2003, a Beatles tribute band formed by Neal Morse, Mike Portnoy, Paul Gilbert and Matt Bissonette, and finally Flying Colors in 2012-present, again with Mike Portnoy, as well as Dave LaRue, Steve Morse (Deep Purple, Dixie Dregs) and Casey McPherson.
