The selection of this month of September is marked by the new opuses of Muse, ZZ Top, Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth, The Rasmus, a very tempting list to which we must add the French albums with Esthesis, Holy Fallout, Malemort and Strange Lab.
But before consulting this TOP WAVES of the fall, let's have a look at the official french ranking (source Snep) in the genres that interest us:
The first metal representative Slipknot fails at the fifth place with its latest album "The End, So Far"
"Will of the People" by Muse rises to 18th place
Trust's "Propaganda" inherits 21st place
Pixies' "Doggerel" reaches number 23
You have to go far down in the ranking to find "Zeit" by Rammstein now 154th
Ozzy Osbourne's "Patient Number 9" is now 164th
The Red Hot Chili Peppers with "Unlimited Love" resists in 25th week in the top at 179th position...
TOP WAVES - GENERAL
With six years separating it from its predecessor, we could legitimately think that the winner of this TOP WAVES of September 2022 would be "The Sick, The Dying... and the Dead!" of Megadeth... It's not the case, it's the last Ozzy Osbourne's album that takes the votes.
"Ozzy Osbourne offers a musical monument as tortured as hypnotizing with this "Patient Number 9" with a bewitching darkness. (Loloceltic)
OZZY OSBOURNE Patient Number 9

At the second place of the podium, we find the last then Megadeth.
"The Sick, The Dying... And The Dead!" constitutes an explosive cocktail with a number of thrashy moments and well-constructed melodies." (Noise)
MEGADETH The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!

And to complete this podium, we find a newcomer Philosophobia which is not really a newcomer to the reader of the line-up gathering in its heart Kristoffer Gildenlöw and Domenik Papaemmanouil (ex-Wastefall).
"A constant melodic research, chiselled vocal lines, powerful riffs, judiciously used keyboards, original and very elaborated compositions, everything contributes to make this first Philosophobia album a must-have." (Newf)

TOP WAVES ROCK SEPTEMBRE 2022
On the other hand, the TOP WAVES ROCK is an enigma since no album of this "genre" is represented in the general ranking.
In the first place, we find the last H.E.A.T to date marked by the departure of Erik Grönwall [which] was a shock for the fans.
"Invigorating, anthemic, alternately martial and enchanting, and both edgy and catchy, "Force Majeure", a testament to H.E.A.T.'s new life, is bound to leave a mark." (Lynott)
H.E.A.T. Force Majeure

In second place, we find Esthesis and "Watching Worlds Collide" which is the "logical continuation of the previous album in this thematic research based on the quest for identity and the relationship with others,
"With "Watching Worlds Collide" with its jazz, soul, progressive and alternative rock ambiences, Esthesis asserts its personality and releases probably one of the best albums of this year." (Calgepo)
ESTHESIS Watching Worlds Collide

And it is finally "Château-Chimères" of Malemort which completes the top three.
"Despite the obstacles that were put in front of him following "Ball Trap" [...] "by approaching different styles (Hard, Metal, Pop) while managing to be coherent, Malemort evokes the ghosts of the castle of Herouville in this incredible album that constitutes one of the major works of this year 2022." (Calgepo)
