Twin Temple
Before moving to the ceremony in due form, it is to the infernal couple of the American formation
Twin Temple that falls the heavy task to heat a room which fills slowly.
Under some effects of setting in the atmosphere, the sweet Alexandra James starts a kind of incantation, an old booklet in hand to begin their set dominated all along by a suave glamour. If the lights play with a dark atmosphere, accentuating the mystical aspect of the performance that oscillates between, they still remain quite weak, which makes us wonder what the performance could be like from the back of the
Accor Arena.
A few exchanges with the audience on the theme of love (let's be factual: with tracks like 'In Lvx', 'Sex Magick' or 'Let's Have a Satanic Orgy' they weren't going to talk about DIY) and here's Alexandra handing out roses to her audience before leaving on a last track to close her very short set.
Not engraved as an unforgettable experience, but still making a good show,
Twin Temple's performance fulfilled its market share, now leaving room for
Uncle Acid...

Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats
If the light show of the previous performance was a bit weak, we can't say that the following one will raise anything, quite the contrary! It is in a quasi permanent darkness that the English formation of Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats will take place.
No interaction with the audience, the band came to play their songs and that's what they did, without pausing and making the most of every second.
We know however the quality of the show to follow, and it is what reassures us a little in such a room, but it will be necessary to make with - or rather without - and to concentrate on the music and not on the other things.
The set starts in a very energetic way with a very emblematic 'Mind Control' from their third production. Throughout the performance, this dynamic will be maintained with a performance of Justin Smith on bass who stands out by his ease and degree of madness.
The lack of atmosphere with the lights keeps the audience in a certain monotony and the applause is not more provided, letting think that it is time to pass to the masters of ceremony.

Ghost
Change of atmosphere and of course of decor that immediately plunge the public - that is to say from the first notes of the new single 'Kaisarion' - in the singular universe of the Swedish group that didn't skimp on the stage effects, even if the huge space of this
Accor Arena would have allowed them more. The drums throne majestically in the middle of the stage and the background represents religious buildings and will allow the Cardinal and the different papas that the transformist Forge will embody to leave the stage; the whole is dominated by the traditional back of stained glass windows.
The
Ghost machine starts with tracks coming from the last albums 'Impera', 'Meliora' and 'Prequelle'. Inhabited by an embodied pleasure translated by games of scene where the musicians quarrel to be put forward, or the choristers who play between them and the frontman, the Cardinal and his Ghouls manage to impose their atmosphere, their rhythms to their public which returns it well to them. We can't count the number of Sisters or Cardinals dressed in the new colors of the band in this now dense audience.
Tobias Forge, as a real leader, can't seem to stop talking to the audience whenever he has the opportunity, which is a big difference from the previous band, but it's always a pleasure to see that his humor hasn't aged a bit and that his jokes are always a hit.
Musically, except for a problem of bass sound at the beginning of 'From the Pinnacle to the Pit', it is impeccable of cleanliness, the whole raised by the presence of the choruses which bring much. After a unifying 'Mary on a Cross', it is a duel of guitars - unfortunately rather short - which follows before launching a 'Cirice' of the most powerful.
Most of the hits will be played, we can regret the absence of 'Darkness At The Heart Of My Love' which could have been another powerful ballad with 'He Is'. The time flies while a 'Kiss The Go-Goat' resounds and embraces the public which asks for more. Unfortunately it was time for the band to perform their encores before taking their leave.
The interpretation of 'Enter Sandman' by
Metallica is a splendid introduction - even if the following with a rough solo makes you want to go to the next one - before closing with a 'Danse Macabre' and 'Square Hammer'. A long session of applause, and the whole band retires in the dark...
...Black broken by the central screen above the pit of the
Accor Arena which already regrets the end of this Dantesque show to let Cardinal Coppia appear backstage, discovering a paper that he turns over in front of the camera to reveal that the band will be present on Saturday, June 18 as a headliner of
Hellfest. It was the last headliner to be unveiled, it's done, the public is satisfied and can return to its daily life. A daily life marked by this new splendid performance of a band that never ceases to renew itself and improve its stage performance that can only please.
